MedExamPrep — Account and Personal Data Deletion Policy
Operated by Neomed
Operated by Neomed
1. Introduction
MedExamPrep, operated by Neomed, respects users' privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly. This policy explains how users can request deletion of their MedExamPrep accounts, how deletion requests are processed, what personal information may be deleted, and which records may need to be retained for legal, financial, security, or regulatory purposes.
Users may request account deletion at any time, subject to applicable laws and legitimate record-retention requirements. Upon completion of the deletion process, personal information that is no longer required for a lawful purpose will be deleted or appropriately anonymized.
2. How to Request Account Deletion
MedExamPrep provides an in-app account deletion option to make the process accessible and straightforward.
To submit a deletion request:
- Open the MedExamPrep application.
- Navigate to your account or profile settings.
- Select the Delete Account option.
- Review the information explaining the consequences of account deletion.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm and submit your request.
If you cannot access your account or are unable to submit a request through the application, contact the MedExamPrep support team at [insert official support email address] for assistance.
Neomed may request reasonable verification of account ownership where necessary to prevent unauthorized deletion requests.
3. Account Deletion Processing Period
Neomed aims to complete valid MedExamPrep account deletion requests within 30 calendar days after the request has been successfully submitted and, where necessary, verified.
During this period, Neomed will initiate and complete the deletion of eligible personal information from its active systems.
The 30-day period applies to the account deletion process. It does not mean that all information must be erased regardless of applicable legal obligations. Certain records may need to be retained beyond this period for billing, subscriptions, taxation, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or other legitimate legal and compliance purposes.
Where information must be retained, Neomed will restrict its use to the relevant purpose and retain it only for as long as necessary or legally required.
4. Personal Information That May Be Deleted
Subject to applicable legal obligations and legitimate retention requirements, the following categories of information associated with a MedExamPrep account may be deleted:
- Account and profile information: Name, registered mobile number, profile details, and other personal account information.
- Authentication-related information: Account identifiers and associated authentication records that are no longer required.
- Learning activity: Test attempts, submitted answers, scores, learning history, and progress associated with the account.
- Saved content: Bookmarked questions, saved learning materials, and other user-specific saved items.
- Personalization data: Learning preferences and other user-specific information maintained by the application.
- Other account-linked information: Additional personal data that is no longer necessary for providing the service or fulfilling a lawful purpose.
Information that has been irreversibly anonymized so that it can no longer reasonably identify an individual may be retained for statistical analysis or service improvement.
5. Subscription, Billing, Payment, and Financial Records
MedExamPrep may offer paid subscriptions or other paid services. When a user requests account deletion, certain subscription and financial records may need to be retained separately from the active user account.
Depending on the services used, these records may include:
- Subscription purchase and transaction history.
- Payment confirmations, receipts, invoices, refunds, and chargeback records.
- Subscription start dates, expiry dates, renewal information, and cancellation records.
- Records required to investigate suspected fraudulent transactions or resolve billing disputes.
- Financial and tax records that must be maintained under applicable laws.
- Records required to demonstrate compliance with applicable payment-provider, app-store, or contractual obligations.
Such records may be retained for the period required by applicable law, accounting obligations, payment-provider requirements, or the resolution of legitimate disputes. These retention periods may extend beyond the 30-day account deletion processing period.
Where feasible, retained financial records will be separated from the user's active account and limited to the information necessary for the relevant purpose. Neomed will not retain an entire user profile merely because a limited financial record must be preserved.
Deleting a MedExamPrep account does not necessarily cancel a recurring subscription managed by an external app store or payment provider. Users should separately cancel any applicable subscription through the provider that manages it to prevent future renewals.
Any remaining subscription access, refunds, or billing matters will be handled according to the applicable subscription terms and provider policies.
6. Legal, Regulatory, and Security-Related Retention
In certain circumstances, Neomed may be required or permitted to retain limited information after a MedExamPrep account deletion request.
Retention may be necessary to:
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or lawful requests from competent authorities.
- Meet accounting, taxation, financial recordkeeping, or other statutory obligations.
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized transactions, or security incidents.
- Resolve payment disputes, refunds, chargebacks, or complaints.
- Enforce applicable terms and conditions or protect the rights, safety, and security of Neomed, its users, or third parties.
Only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose will be retained. Access to retained information will be restricted where appropriate, and the information will be deleted or anonymized when the applicable retention purpose expires and no further lawful basis for retention exists.
7. Backups and Technical Retention
Some information may remain temporarily in system backups, disaster-recovery copies, or technical logs after it has been deleted from active systems.
Where immediate removal from these systems is not technically feasible, the information will remain protected and will be removed according to the applicable backup or log-retention schedule.
If a backup is restored, Neomed will take reasonable steps to ensure that previously processed deletion requests are reapplied where necessary.
Technical logs may also be retained for a limited period where necessary for system security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, or compliance.
8. Third-Party Service Providers
Neomed may use third-party service providers to operate MedExamPrep, including infrastructure hosting, authentication, payment processing, subscription management, and other technical services.
Where personal information is processed by these providers on Neomed's behalf, Neomed will take reasonable steps, consistent with applicable contractual arrangements and legal requirements, to ensure that eligible information is deleted or that appropriate deletion instructions are communicated where required.
Some providers may independently retain limited transaction, security, or compliance records where they have their own legal obligations or other lawful reasons to do so. Such retention is subject to the applicable provider's policies and legal requirements.
9. Consequences of Account Deletion
Once account deletion has been completed:
- You will no longer be able to access the deleted MedExamPrep account.
- Your eligible learning progress, test history, answers, bookmarks, and other associated personal data will be deleted and may not be recoverable.
- Personalized learning services linked to the deleted account will no longer be available through that account.
- You may need to register a new account to use MedExamPrep again.
- Limited information retained for legal, financial, security, or compliance purposes will remain subject to the applicable restrictions and retention periods.
Account deletion does not automatically reverse completed payments, guarantee a refund, or cancel subscriptions administered by external providers. These matters will be handled according to the applicable terms and provider procedures.
10. Data Security
Neomed takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.
Deletion requests will be processed through designated procedures intended to protect account ownership and prevent unauthorized actions. Information retained after deletion will continue to receive appropriate protection and will be accessible only where reasonably necessary for its permitted purpose.
